Challenge:
The Princess Nora University Treatment Plant faced significant challenges in managing its wastewater. The need for an efficient and sustainable solution was paramount to ensure the conservation of freshwater resources and reduce environmental impact. Our goal was to redesign and upgrade the existing facilities to handle the university’s needs while implementing cutting-edge technology.

Implementation:
Our approach involved the integration of advanced tertiary treatment processes, particularly membrane bioreactors (MBR). This technology is crucial for modern wastewater management, offering high-quality water recycling capabilities. By adopting these systems, the treatment plant is now able to produce recycled water that meets rigorous quality standards, suitable for irrigation and reducing the university’s dependence on municipal water supplies.

Result:
The successful redesign and renovation of the treatment plant have significantly enhanced its capacity and efficiency. This recycled water is now utilized extensively for irrigating the university’s parks and agricultural lands. By doing so, we have helped the university reduce its freshwater usage, thereby contributing to the preservation of local water resources and enhancing sustainability.
